Oil tanker struck by melting glacier

this just in. ironic, don’t you think? (no, i can’t prove that the ice chunk was due to melting landmass as a result of climate change, but it’s more compelling that way)

NEW YORK, Feb 2 (Reuters) – Tesoro Corp said one of its oil tankers was struck by an ice floe while it was being loaded at a dock in Alaska on Thursday morning, releasing some oil or gas.The company said its leased Seabulk Pride vessel, a double hull tanker built in 1998, was struck by the floe while it was loading heavy vacuum gas oil and unleaded gasoline onto the ship from its Nikiski, Alaska, dock.
